March Eagle Remembrance Ceremony

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A remembrance ceremony honoring Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, is scheduled for 4:00pm Wednesday March 9th at the Family Resource Center.

Remembrance ceremonies are held to honor fallen Soldiers deployed in support of Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom and are held monthly, as needed.

The March ceremony will honor the following fallen Fort Campbell Soldiers:

Curtis Oakes

Curtis OakesStaff Sgt. Curtis Allen Oakes, 29, of Athens, Ohio, was a Fire Support Specialist who joined the Army in March 2003 and arrived at Fort Campbell in September 2004.

Oakes is survived by his wife, Brandy Oakes; son, Bradley Oakes and stepson, Tyler Jones, all of Clarksville, Tennessee. Oakes is also survived by his daughter, Mia Robus of Wisconsin City, WI and his parents Terry and Valarie Oakes of Athens, Ohio.

Zachary Salmon

Zachary Steven SalmonPrivate 1st Class Zachary Steven Salmon, 21, of Harrison, Ohio, was a Cavalry Scout assigned to Alpha Troop, 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He joined the Army in March 2010 and arrived at Fort Campbell in August 2010.

Salmon is survived by his son, Noah Z. Salmon; mother, Sonya R. Christian of Hebron, KY and father, Steven A. Salmon of Hamilton, Ohio. 

Michael Flannery                                   

Michael FlanneryStaff Sgt. Sean Michael Flannery, 29, of Wyomissing, PA, was an Infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Flannery entered the Army in July 2004 and arrived at Fort Campbell in April 2009.

Flannery is survived by his mother, Charlene V. Flannery, of Wyomissing, PA.

Michael Beckerman

Michael BeckermanSergeant Michael J. Beckerman, 25, of Sainte Genevieve, MO. Beckerman was a combat engineer, who joined the Army in September 2004 and arrived at Fort Campbell in January 2010.

He is survived by his wife, Spc. Margaretta A. Beckerman and daughter, Brianna J. Beckerman, of Clarksville, Tennessee; and parents, Lisa Beckerman and Steve Beckerman, also of Sainte Genevieve, MO.

William Middleton

William MiddletonCorporal William Kyle Middleton, 26, of Norfolk, VA, was an Infantryman assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault.) Middleton entered the Army in April 2009 and arrived at Fort Campbell in August 2009.

Middleton is survived by his father, Clarence Middleton of Amelia, VA. and his mother, Marlene Blackburn of Richmond, VA.

Joshua Lancaster

Joshua Trevyn LancasterSpecialist Joshua Trevyn Lancaster, 22, of Millbrook, AL, was a Signal Support Systems Specialist assigned to the 723rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 184th Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group at Fort Campbell.  Lancaster joined the Army in March 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in October 2010.

Lancaster is survived by his wife, Melanie Lancaster of Clarksville, Tennessee and mother, Kimberly Irwin of Millbrook, AL.
