“This is a low-key affair,” head coach Doug Molnar said. “It will give us a chance to do some things with people in different events. We want to work on some things in a low-key environment without all the pressure. We have some technical things we’re going to be addressing, which will be good for us this time of year.”

Austin Peay, of course, will be led by senior Chiamaka Obi who holds the Ohio Valley Conference’s top 400-meter dash mark, 55.47, set last week at the Coastal Carolina Invitational. Obi also is scheduled to run the 400-meter hurdles for the first time since the 2010 Penn Relays. Freshman Taelor Slaughter, meanwhile, will take her first shot at the 800-meter run.

Courtney JordanIn the field events, senior Courtney Jordan will attempt to improve on her first-ever hammer throw attempt, last week at Coastal Carolina. Molnar also expects vast improvement from the jump crew as well, led by sophomore Leigha Tolliver and junior Keyvia Davis.

“We’re looking to clean up some things on the board,” Molnar said. “They’ll get six jumps and we want to try and set some marks. We need the live action in order to get back on track with the jumpers.”

This will be Austin Peay’s second event in the young outdoor season. The Lady Govs next home event, the APSU Invite, is slated for April 2nd, at Governors Stadium.
