Fort Campbell, KY – When it comes to fun and games, DW Rec. has the month of April covered. From special visits by the Easter Bunny, to gaming tournaments; your Family is bound to have a good time. Got Ping-Pong? DW Rec. does. Sunday, April 3rd, you can play in the Post Wide Table Tennis Tournament. The games begin at 2:00pm and trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers.
Welcome spring with a special Easter/spring time craft on Sunday, April 10th. This is a perfect opportunity for the whole Family to come make a special spring time craft. Craft making takes place from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.
Starting at 8:00am, on Saturday, April 16th, the DW Rec. tradition of Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will take place. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, juice and milk as they visit with the Easter Bunny. After breakfast, there will be an opportunity for pictures to be taken with the Easter Bunny, a coloring contest, and door prizes. Purchase your tickets by close of business on April 14th and pay $3.00 for children 12 and under and $5.00 for 13 and older. After April 14th, tickets will be $5.00 for children 12 and under and $7.00 for 13 and older. If food is still available, tickets will be $10.00 at the door the day of the event.
Come discover the Soldier in everyone with a first person shooter video game that sold more than 7 million copies within the first 24 hours of being released. DW Rec. will be hosting an Xbox 360 Call of Duty Black Ops Tournament on April 17th at 2:00pm. Tournament participants must be eligible Family and MWR patrons aged 18 and older. Top three finishers will receive trophies.
Bring the kids out to DW Rec. on Easter Sunday, April 24th, for an Easter Egg Hunt with prizes awarded in each age group for the child who finds a special candy. There are designated times that children may participate depending on their age.
- Children ages “walking” through 2 years old start at 2:30pm.
- Children 3 years old start at 3:00pm.
- Children 4 to 5 years old start at 3:30pm.
- Children 6 to 7 years old start at 4:00pm.
- Children 8 to 9 years old start at 4:30pm.
- Children 10 to 12 years old start at 5:00pm.
Children are asked to bring a basket or bag for their candy. Prizes will be awarded for the special candy found by each age group. Rain date is scheduled for May 1st.
DW Rec. is committed to providing Soldiers and Families a quality of life that is commensurate with their service through quality Recreation, Travel and Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) programs and services. The BOSS program is proudly sponsored by USAA. The DW Recreation Center is located at 6145 Desert Storm Avenue. All eligible participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who remains present the entire time.
