Adult Literacy Council hosts “Career Paths” Event

Free Event for Adults wanting to make more Money

The Adult Literacy Council

Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, April 27th, 2011, from 10:00am – 2:00pm, the Adult Literacy Council will be hosting the “Career Paths” event at the Greenwood Complex, 430 Greenwood Avenue, Room #213.  Career representatives will be on site ready to answer questions and provide information on your “career path”.

For over 25 years, the Adult Literacy Council has offered free tutoring programs, free tutoring for GED, free English classes and free computer lab instruction. Now the non-profit agency is once again sponsoring a free event, open to adults 18 and over.

“Getting a GED is an achievement in itself,” said ALC Director Velma Jo Williams, “We wanted to stage an event that would let the GED graduate or that person thinking about registering for GED classes, know what’s out there in terms of college and careers.”

Adult Literacy“It’s also a chance for the community to see what other free programs the ALC offers along with the GED tutoring program.”

Mp3 players and cellphones will be given away as door prizes. There will be free food and other giveaways throughout the day.
