Journey Through Lewis and Clark’s America with “Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme” at the Roxy

Bea(u)tiful in the ExtremeClarksville, TN – The epic adventure of the Lewis and Clark Expedition is relived in the regional premiere of “Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme”, opening at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, April 1st, at 8:00pm.

In this new play by Leon Martell, the legendary expedition is recalled in flashbacks as Meriwether Lewis struggles to come to grips with his experience and the meaning of America. As Lewis sets out to edit his final report, he is haunted by visions of Thomas Jefferson, Sacagawea, the hospitable but doomed Mandan people, raging rapids, suspicious Lakota warriors, frozen mountain passes, and York, the slave seeking his own definition of freedom.

Mark Cabus, founding artistic director of Nashville’s award-winning Naked Stages and Green Room Projects, directs this stellar ensemble cast — Ryan Bowie, Ashton Crosby, Gili Getz, Ted Jones, Travis Kendrick, Keith Patrick McCoy, Brandon Meeks, Keith Panzarella and Kendall Anne Thompson — as they perform over three dozen roles.

“Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme” runs April 1st through April 9th, playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm, with a 2:00pm matinee on Saturday, April 9th. Tickets are $15.00 (adults) and $10.00 (ages 13 and under) and may be reserved online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931-645-7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am-2:00pm, weekdays).
