Residence Surrounded After a Call About a Man Playing Russian Roulette with a Handgun

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On March 28th, around 6:59pm, a woman placed a 911 call from in reference to an intoxicated 49 year old male playing Russian roulette with a 357 Magnum, inside of a Buckeye Lane residence with the intent of harming himself.  The woman also said that the man had discharged the firearm inside of the residence while playing roulette and that he was the only one inside.

As officers arrived at the scene, they heard two more shots being fired from inside of the house. Patrol officers surrounded the residence, blocked off the street, and called out the Crisis Negotiators and Tactical Unit.

Officers were able to establish phone contact with the man around 8:00pm, at which time the man voluntarily exited the residence without further incident. When he came out of the residence, officers discovered the man had shot himself in the foot. He was transported to the hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.

The investigation is ongoing, but at this point charges are not likely.
