Tip leads to capture of TBI Top Ten Most Wanted in Georgia

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today removed its latest addition to the TBI Top Ten Most Wanted list after he was captured by authorities in Georgia while acting on a tip TBI received on the fugitive’s whereabouts.
 
TBI received information that John B. Hale, 54, of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee was hitch hiking with truck drivers from Florida and was headed back to Tennessee. He was located at the Flying J Truck Stop on Resaca Beach Boulevard off of I-75 in Resaca, GA by the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department Saturday night at 10:00pm. He was booked into the Gordon County jail without incident.

John Hale

John HaleHale was wanted by the Dickson’s County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated sexual battery of a victim under 13 years old. Hale pled guilty to the charge in August of 2010 and was sentenced to eight years in prison. The judge stayed his sentence so he could have a medical procedure performed prior to his confinement. Hale was scheduled to report to prison on February 14th, 2011, but fled the area a few days prior. He is a registered as a sex offender and has been listed as an absconder. 
 
Hale was added to the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list on February 28th, 2011.
