2011 CMCSS Battle of the Books

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemMontgomery County, TN – Six Clarksville-Montgomery County high schools will compete in this year’s annual Battle of the Books, which will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 at the Clarksville Public Library. Each school will field of team of their top three competitors from school battles to win the coveted “Limo Lunch” prize.

Students read 25 books throughout the school year, from a list of recently-published books selected by Tennessee school librarians. Defending the title this year is Rossview High School, which houses the traveling trophy.

The winning team will be treated to a limousine ride throughout Clarksville (donated by Planter’s Bank), and to their choice of a donated lunch at one of these sponsoring restaurants: Ci Ci’s Pizza, Pizza Hut (Sango), Rafferty’s, Old Chicago, or Olive Garden.

Coordinator for this year’s event is Ellen Taylor, Library Media Specialist at Rossview High School.
