APSU Women’s Tennis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team suffered an traumatic collapse, falling 5-2 to Jacksonville State, Friday, at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts.
It all started when the No. 2 doubles team of junior Vanja Tomic and freshman Andra Cornea allowed JSU’s Ralphaela Lima and Raisa Guasti to comeback from a 7-2 deficit. Lima and Guasti broke the Lady Govs serve a number of times and went on to win the match, 9-7.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team locked up its second-straight Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance with a 6-1 OVC win against Jacksonville State, Friday, at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts.
With a young team, made of three sophomores and three freshmen, head coach Malik Tabet has the Govs positioned for a No. 2 seed when the OVC Tennis Championships begin, next week, in Paducah, KY. Last year, the Govs needed a season-finale win to sneak into the tournament, before losing in the quarterfinals to eventual-champion Eastern Kentucky.

APSU Women’s Golf
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team will play in its final regular-season tournament this weekend in the 54-hole EKU Lady Colonel Classic, Saturday and Sunday, at the Arlington Golf Course.
The tourney will begin with an 8:30am shotgun start each day on the par-72, 5,801-yard layout. The 13-team field will represent 12 schools (host Eastern Kentucky will play two teams), including six Ohio Valley Conference members. In addition to APSU and EKU, Morehead State, Murray State, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech will participate. Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Marshall, Ohio, Southern Illinois and Toledo also will be competing.

APSU Women’s Softball
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will host Murray State this weekend for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series, beginning with a 1:00pm, Saturday doubleheader, followed by the 1:00pm, Sunday series finale.
Saturday’s game also will serve as the cornerstone event to the APSU Celebrate Women in Athletics weekend that, along with celebrating the first 25 years of Lady Govs softball, will see the home facility be renamed Cheryl Holt Field in a pregame ceremony to honor of the university’s first softball head coach and current woman’s senior administrator.
Fort Campbell, KY– It was an early arrival on Tuesday as 211 Soldiers with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team Returned to Returned to Campbell Army Airfield. Once the plane was in site, you could hear children shout out.. Daddy’s home. There were lots of cheers and tears as soldiers passed by the awaiting family members as the dropped their gear and formed up just outside hanger 3.

Fort Campbell, KY – Late Thursday night, 78 Soldiers with the 1st Brigade Combat Team and 101st Headquarters and Headquarters Battery returned to Fort Campbell at 11:52pm after a year long deployment to Afghanistan.
21 Freshmen members of the Western Kentucky State ROTC were here to help welcome home the soldiers. They are currently doing a four day FTX training exercise at Fort Campbell.
