Man Shot in Groin Area

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Police are investigating an alleged robbery which occurred last night in the area of Timber Court apartments at the corner of Dunbar Cave and Old Russellville Pike.  On April 11th, around 9:53pm, officers were called to the area of Timber Court about a shooting in progress and a man possibly being shot in the leg.

A witness heard a gunshot and saw a man possibly being pushed out of a vehicle. The man who had been pushed from the vehicle fled on foot from the area.  When Police arrived on the scene they were unable to locate a victim or suspect in the area. A short time later, a 21 year old man showed up at the emergency room who had sustained a gunshot wound to the groin area.

Prior to the 21 year old victim being taken to Vanderbilt by ambulance, he told Police that he was in the area to visit a friend when an unknown male asked him for a ride to store. When the man got inside of the car, he pulled a gun and demanded all of the 21 year olds money.

A fight took place inside of the vehicle which resulted in the driver being shot; the victim said he was able to take the gun from the robber. The robber bailed out of the car and ran off behind the apartments. The victim said that he drove from the scene, discarded the gun in the area of Old Russellville Pike and Dunbar Cave, and proceeded to a friend’s house. The friend then took him to the hospital for treatment. The victim said he did not know the robber and gave Police very little suspect information. The handgun was found by a citizen in the Dunbar Cave Road area and turned into Police.
