Escape to West Kentucky with 4-H

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – West Kentucky 4-H is offering a 3-day Summer Camp for 4th through 8th graders who love the outdoors. 

The camp will take place at the West Kentucky 4-H camp in Dawson Springs, KY from June 27th- June 30th. Children who participate will fish, camp, hike, swim, learn archery and make crafts. 

Applications for the camp in June can be picked up at Parent Central Services or at the Christian County Extension Office located in Hopkinsville KY. Deadline for registration is May 16th and orientation will be held on May 17th.


 
Registration will close when slots are full, so register quickly.  There is also a need for volunteer leaders.

Transportation will be provided to and from the camp from the Christian County Extension Office. The cost for the camp is $165.00 per child; however, assistance is available for military dependants. Children who are interested in participating must be enrolled in Child Youth and School Services (CYSS) or the 4-H program.

The 4-H camp covers approximately 450 acres of land and has a countless array of amenities. It serves 36 counties with a bed capacity of 426 campers and counselors per camping session. The camp’s facilities include: a swimming pool with diving board, dining hall, classroom buildings, shelter house, pavilion, nature huts, crafts room, country store, heated cabins, bath houses, horse arena, 14-acre lake and a challenge course. There are also facilities for archery, basketball, softball, soccer and football.
