Deadline Set for Collecting Storm Debris

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Street Department is continuing to collect limbs and debris from trees downed in recent storms, but May 23rd has been set as the deadline for city residents to request curbside pick-up.

The city has qualified to receive reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for debris removal from the April storms. Two requirements of FEMA is that an end date be set, and that all the debris be brought to curbside, said Tommy Murphy, assistant director of the Street Department.

“We cannot enter private property to load up limbs and debris,” Murphy said. “Everything has to be brought to the (street) right of way.”

Limbs should be no longer than 8-foot lengths.

To schedule a pick-up, call 931-645-7464 by the close of business May 23rd.
