Set The Date – Cooling at The Cave Presented by the Friends of Dunbar Cave

As the weather starts to heat up, the Friends of Dunbar Cave (FODC) would like to remind your family of an upcoming, FREE event designed to keep your family cool.  FODC has scheduled their annual Cooling at the Cave event for Saturday, July 30th, 3:00-5:00PM.

Folks have always come to Dunbar Cave in the dog days of summer to enjoy its 56 degree year round temperature.  FODC continue this tradition with their annual  Cooling at the Cave event.  Sitting outside the mouth of the cave, your family can enjoy the cool breeze while playing board games, sipping on some iced lemonade and listening to a band play.   The FODC provides the musical entertainment (TBA) and will have refreshments available for a modest donation.  Bring some board games, lawn chairs, a good attitude and enjoy Mother Nature air conditioner!

Stayed tuned – As the event approaches and the musical entertainment is booked, I will post another article reminding you fo the event and the activities scheduled.

The Friends of Dunbar Cave is a non-profit group that meets every third Thursday at 6pm at the park.  Family memberships are $25 per year.  New members get a free T-shirt so you can show your support of the park.  All funds raised are spent on the park.  In the past, the group has purchased items such as mulch for the trails, interpretative signs, and computers for the staff.  If your family is interested in joining or wants more information on how you can help support Clarksville’s only state park, see the websites below or email me directly.
