June Chamber of Commerce Events

Clarksville Area Chamber of CommerceClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce announces upcoming events during the month of June.

A Power Breakfast will be held at Riverview Inn, 50 College Street, on June 9th at 7:30am. Rudy Kalis will serve as the keynote speaker for this event. From his humble beginnings as a 5-year-old German immigrant, Emmy award winner Rudy Kalis has garnered a long and exciting career as one of the nation’s premiere sports newscasters. Rudy has crossed paths with some of the greatest names in sports history such as Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Jack Nicklaus, Wayne Gretzky, Wilma Rudolph, and Darrell Waltrip.

After serving four years in the US Air Force, Rudy obtained his degree in Mass Communications and has worked all over the country, eventually settling in Nashville at WSMV Channel 4. There he has won 15 Associated Press awards for the outstanding sportscast in the state of Tennessee and he has been voted the best sportscaster in Nashville 13 times by the readers of the Nashville Scene newspaper. A true sports icon and legend, his story will relay what can be achieved through hard work, discipline and believing in yourself.

The Chamber’s Annual Dinner and Gala will be held on Tuesday, June 14th. The event will begin with a reception at Archwood at 5:30pm and conclude with dinner beginning at 7:00pm at APSU’s Morgan University Center.

On Wednesday, June 15th, the Chamber will be presenting the Clarksville-Montgomery County Growth Summit at the APSU Morgan Center. The June 15th Summit includes two meals, special guest speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions that will lay the groundwork for understanding our ever changing local economy and the issues that will impact Clarksville-Montgomery County’s growth. Registration will begin at 7:00am and the summit will conclude with a luncheon where Dr. Martin Regalia of the US Chamber of Commerce will serve as the keynote speaker. Business After Hours will be Thursday, June 16th, at Bill Roberts Thunder Road Automotive & Marine, 997 South Riverside Drive from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. This is event is offered at no cost and is open to the public.

June 16th-24th will be the Chamber’s annual Warrior Week.

Activities this year include:

  • June 19th – Church Appreciation Services
  • June 20th – Military Marksmanship Competition – Montgomery County Shooting Complex

A Women In Business event will be Tuesday, June 21st from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, 290 Alfred Thun Road. Richie McDonald, lead singer of Lonestar, will serve as the keynote speaker. Richie has long been one of music’s most accomplished and wide-ranging talents. Recognized as one of country’s best singers, he was the face and voice of Lonestar, ranked among the genre’s preeminent groups. A polished and engaging entertainer, he was the focal point of the group’s storied touring career. As one of the industry’s most successful songwriters, he has penned some of the era’s most memorable songs and earned a mantle full of awards and nominations.

On Tuesday, June 28th from 11:30am – 1:00pm there will be a Lunch and Learn Event. It will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 290 Alfred Thun Road. The topic will be Solar 101 and presented by LightWave Solar Electric, LLC Founder and President, Steve Johnson. LightWave Solar will cover the basics of solar photovoltaics (PV); how solar works, solar equipment, roof and shade requirements, cost and incentives, and the reasons why Tennesseans are installing solar on their homes and businesses. Johnson is a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer and has been in the electrical construction business for over 30 years with experience in solar PV dating back to 1998.
