Motorcyclist Collides with a Vehicle after performing Wheelies

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On June 8th, 2011 around 5:30pm, Warren Howard, 18, of Clarksville was on a Honda motorcycle traveling south on MLK Parkway. An off-duty police officer was behind Howard and saw him perform a couple of wheelies on his Honda motorcycle.

Shortly after that, Howard collided with the rear end of a Chevy Tahoe, driven by Angela Turner of Clarksville, traveling in the left southbound lane of MLK Parkway. The Chevy was signaling to make a left turn when the motorcycle collided with the Tahoe’s rear bumper.

Howard was launched from the motorcycle after the collision and hit the roadway. The motorcycle continued on without its rider and collided with a Nissan Versa, driven by Brittany Schneider, who was also traveling southbound.

Warren Howard was transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt with leg and head injuries and is in critical but stable condition.

Angela Turner was transported from the scene by a personal vehicle and did not have any readily apparent injuries. Brittany Schneider did not sustain any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. The lead investigator is Officer Bill Van Beber.
