Sounds Open Action-Packed Homestand on Thursday

Giveaways and Fireworks Highlight Five-Game Homestand

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Thursday, July 14th to open a four-day, five-game homestand against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers affiliate).

Highlighting the homestand’s worth of promotions will be two fireworks shows, a Brendan Katin Bobblehead giveaway, 2011 Sounds Baseball Card Set giveaway, and a Taco Bell Throwback Thursday Doubleheader.

Thursday, July 14th vs. Albuquerque – Doubleheader

Game Time: 6:05pm | Gates Open: 5:05pm

The homestand opens with a scheduled doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning contests beginning at 6:05pm on Taco Bell Throwback Thursday. Sounds players will wear retro 1980s-style uniforms while fans enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2.00 beer, $2.00 soft drinks, $2.00 hot dogs, $2.00 popcorn, and $2.00 nachos. Beer sales on the concourse will conclude at 9:00pm, while Slugger’s will sell until the end of the second game. Fans with Taco Bell receipts and college students with valid college IDs will receive $5.00 general admission tickets to the game.

Be sure to arrive early on Thursday, as Brendan Katin Bobbleheads will be given to the first 2,000 guests through the turnstiles at Greer, thanks to Taco Bell. The PCL All-Star and 2010 Fan Favorite has spent the past three seasons in a Nashville uniform, and is just 12 home runs and 21 RBIs behind Chad Hermansen for the top spot on the Sounds’ all-time career leaderboard.

Wednesday, July 15th vs. Albuquerque

Game Time: 7:05pm | Gates Open: 6:05pm

Firestone Friday Fireworks will light up the sky following the action on the field for Friday’s contest against the Isotopes. It will also be Japanese Appreciation Night at Greer, where a portion of ticket revenue will be donated to the Japan American Society of Tennessee to aid in the ongoing Tsunami efforts. Consul-General of Japan Hiroshi Sato will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Wednesday, July 16th vs. Albuquerque

Game Time: 6:35pm | Gates Open: 5:35pm

For Saturday’s 6:35pm game with Albuquerque, the first 2,000 fans will receive a 2011 Nashville Sounds baseball card team set as they enter the gates, thanks to Kroger and KRAFT Foods. Combined with postgame Fireworks, courtesy of Nashville’s NEWS 2, Saturday evening is another can’t miss night at the ballpark with the Nashville Sounds!

Sunday, July 17th vs. Albuquerque

Game Time: 6:35pm | Gates Open: 5:35pm

Sunday evening’s 6:35pm homestand finale against Albuquerque will be a Purity Sundae Sunday with $1.00 ice cream sundaes available at Greer Stadium. It will also be another of Ozzie’s Kids Club games, the ultimate fan club for kids 12 and under. For more information, visit www.nashvillesounds.com/kidsclub.

 

Following the homestand, Nashville will begin a four-game road trip against the division-rival Iowa Cubs (Cubs affiliate) before returning home to Greer Stadium on Friday, July 22nd to open a four-game homestand with the Cubs.
