Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University head volleyball coach Bill Egbert has begun piecing together his coaching staff for the upcoming season, naming Lora Sarich as an assistant coach.

“Lora is a great addition to the Austin Peay family and she is going to play a vital role in our success,” said Egbert. “She brings a lot of great experience and skills with her and is going to be a great asset to us in the gym and as a recruiter.”

While at Georgia, Sarich handled team travel, coordinated official recruiting visits and managed the program’s recruiting database. In addition, she assisted visiting teams with their travel, maintained inventory control and managed the program’s budget – duties she again will manage at Austin Peay.

“I’m excited to be at Austin Peay,” said Sarich. “I look forward to working with Coach Egbert and building a top-caliber volleyball program. I believe there is the potential to do amazing things.”

Sarich also gained valuable coaching experience heading the Georgia Women’s Collegiate Club Volleyball program both seasons. She led that program to the NCCS Collegiate Club Volleyball Division II Championship in 2009.

Prior to her time at Georgia, Sarich was a graduate assistant coach at West Georgia while pursuing her graduate degree. She was a member of the 2007 Wolves squad that won the Gulf South Conference tournament and made the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship appearance.

A native of Bellevue, NE, Sarich graduated from Toledo in 2006. She played four seasons (2003-06) for the Rockets and finished with the program’s single-season (508) and career (1,736) digs records as she played libero and outside hitter.
