“The Wizard of Oz” wins people’s choice movie

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – After months of collecting votes, Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the final movie of the 2011 season and the people’s choice movie winner – “The Wizard of Oz”. The movie will be shown Saturday, October 8th.

This year’s season of Movies in the Park inaugurated a new People’s Choice night where the public nominated movies they wanted to see. After the nomination period was over, the voting began. The movie with the most votes won.

In the meantime, join us this Saturday, August 5th, at Heritage Park Soccer fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the 1998 comedy-drama film- Patch Adams which is rated PG-13.

All movies begin at dusk around 8:05pm, with pre-show activities beginning an hour prior. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. As always, you are welcome to bring your picnic basket, but concessions will be available.
