“Sheets For Soldiers” program brings hope and comfort to Soldiers returning from Afghanistan

Wyatt-Johnson Sales Representative Willie Rosario assists with the FRG’s effort to help returning soldiers by purchasing bedding for their Fort Campbell barracks rooms.

Wyatt-Johnson Auto GroupClarksville, TN – Willie Rosario has been working in the sales department for the Wyatt-Johnson Automotive Group since 2007. Over the course of those four years, Willie has had hundreds of clients, including many with military ties. A former soldier himself, Willie knows firsthand what it truly means to serve his country and fight for our freedom.

Willie wanted come up with a unique way to express his appreciation for area soldiers’ continued service and sacrifices. After talking with Tammy Phillips, Family Readiness Group (FRG) leader for 4th Brigade Combat Team 506th Infantry Regiment, he learned that many single unmarried soldiers returning home from overseas deployments move back into practically bare Fort Campbell barracks rooms with very few amenities.

The two discussed “Sheets for Soldiers”, a program the FRG had developed to donate gift bags and comfortable sheets to these returning soldiers. Wanting to help these exhausted troops feel the comforts of home and get a well-deserved good night’s sleep, Willie decided to dedicate his time and efforts to “Sheets for Soldiers”.

Willie brought his idea to Wyatt-Johnson management and the dealership immediately jumped at the chance to help and show their appreciation for the brave men and women of Fort Campbell. Led by Willie’s initiative and the cooperation of Oak Grove Walmart managers Charles Sanders and Elizabeth Henderson, the Wyatt-Johnson Automotive Group purchased 350 sets of bed sheets and donated them to Sheets for Soldiers.

“It’s easy to take our freedom for granted, but it’s important to remember that these soldiers put their lives on the line every day to protect us and our families,” says Willie. “This is just one little way we can express our gratitude.”
