Fort Campbell, KY – Outdoor Recreation has an amazing fall line-up for their Women in the Wilderness Adventure Series. September is “On Land and in the Water”, October is ‘Take Aim and Fire” and November is “Climbing to New Heights”.
September’s focus is on water sports, camping and horseback riding with a weekend trip to Land Between the Lakes. It kicks off with an Introduction to Canoeing & Kayaking. You have 2 opportunities to sign up for this activity, September 6th from 10:00am until 1:00pm or September 10th from 10:00am until 1:00pm.
This is a great opportunity for like-minded women to try canoeing and kayaking in a safe environment. The cost is $9.00 and participants need to bring a sack lunch, plenty of water and sunscreen for the day.
September fun continues with Camping 101 at Wohali Pavilion. Sign up for either September 13th from 11:00am until 1:00pm or September 17th from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The cost is $15.00.
On September 24th – 25th you get to demonstrate your newly acquired kayak or canoe skills, socialize, and have fun while enjoying the beauty of nature on this Land Between the Lakes Overnight trip. The cost is $39.00 and the trip includes some gear, food, instruction and transportation. Participants need to bring tents, sleeping bags and a sack lunch.
Round the month off with Horseback Riding at Fort Campbell Riding Stables on September 27th from 9:00am until 12:00pm or September 29th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Cost is $20.00.
In October, Women in the Wilderness Adventure Series will be focusing on shooting sports. You will have the opportunity to try out your shooting skills at Archery, Skeet, Paintball and learn the basics about Hunting. All activities will meet at the facility site.
Archery Basics will be offered on October 6th and 8th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Cost is $10.00 and class will be held at the Archery Range.
Skeet Shooting will be offered on October 13th and 17th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Cost is $11.75 and class will be held at the Skeet Range. Paintball for Beginners will be offered on October 20th and 22nd from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Cost is $25.00 and class will be held at the Paintball Field. Hunting 101 will be offered on October 25th from 5:30pm until 7:30pm and October 27th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Cost is $10.00 and class will be held at Wohali Pavilion.
The Challenge Course Complex and Kings Bluff are the locations for November’s exciting adventures! All skill levels welcome. Those with experience can brush up on their techniques while beginners will learn the fundamentals of rock climbing. Wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes.
Climbing 101 on the Wall will be offered on November 5th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm and November 10th from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Cost is $10.00 and class will be held at the Challenge Course Complex.
Demonstrate your heightened skills, enhance current skills, socialize and have fun while enjoying the beauty of nature on this Kings Bluff Climbing Trip. This trip will be offered on November 17th, 9:00am until 1:00pm and November 19th, 12:00pm until 4:00pm. Trip includes climbing gear, instruction, and transportation to the bluff. Participants need to bring snacks, lunch and plenty of water for the day. Cost is $15.00 and participants need to meet at the Outdoor Recreation Main Office.
Preregistration for all trips is required by 4:00pm the day prior to departure. Spots for all water activities are limited to 12 participants, so sign up now!
