Temporary Closures at Golden Pond Target Range

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – The Golden Pond Target Range at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will be temporarily closed Monday through Friday beginning Monday, September 12th with completion expected by October 1st.

Visitors may still use the Range on weekends; however, additional weekend closures may be needed. Updates will be posted on www.lbl.org under Alerts & Notices.

This temporary closure will allow LBL to make improvements to earthen berms surrounding the range. The Target Range was updated in 2010, and is almost twice as long as before. It includes two ranges for simultaneous shooting—a 175-yard rifle range containing six shooting benches and a 50-yard pistol range containing four shooting benches.

The accessible Target Range is open from dawn to dusk.  Use is on a first-come, first-served basis with capability for multiple shooters.  The Archery Range will remain open during this closure.
