“We struggled a little in the first round, but the course was difficult,” head coach Kirk Kayden said. “Anthony had a good day and they all played a lot better in the second round. It’s good to be in contention; now we have to hang in there for 18 more holes. It’s going to be an exciting final pairing.”

The Big Blue Course played tough during the first round, as the Govs finished with a 300, good enough for sixth. They posted an 11 shot improvement in the second round for a 289 to move up to third. Austin Peay is now set to play in the tournament’s final pairing with host Kentucky and Dayton.

Austin Peay’s two-round 589 is 12 strokes behind Kentucky, who leads the pack with a 577. Dayton is three strokes ahead of APSU in second with a 580. Marshall (590) and Eastern Kentucky (592) round out the top five. Bradley is only two shots off individual leader Andrew Steffensmeier, of Dayton, who shot 71-69=140
