Student Traffic Awareness Training Class Provides Young Drivers With Invaluable Information

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Citizens Police Academy in conjunction with the Clarksville Police Department presented a Student Traffic Awareness Training (S.T.A.T) class.

Students could not have asked for a better day. The 35 students took time out of their personal free time to learn more about rules of the road, speeding, wear of seatbelts, DUI, driver roles and responsibilities, causes of crashes, and many other topics.

After the classroom, the 15-19 year old students headed out to a serpentine course lined with the “Cone” family and tested their abilities to drive while wearing “Fatal Vision” goggles and texting. The results were eye opening for many of the young drivers. This S.T.A.T class was free and the last one for 2011.

The Citizens Police Academy wants to thank all the sponsors and volunteers for their generosity and interest in educating our young drivers.
