Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are looking for a man whose company took thousands of dollars from victims to perform home repair or improvement work, but never started the projects, shut down the business, and has not refunded the down payment money.

Jacob Louis Smith is the owner of Clarksville Home Exteriors, the  business which provided written estimates and contracted with the victims to perform home improvement work. The victims were required to pay half of the contracted price down and the other half upon completion of the work.

Two of the victims contracted with Clarksville Home Exteriors in June 2011 to have home improvement work performed on their residences, but to date there has not been any work started. The victims attempts to have their money refunded has proved fruitless. Between the two victims, there was over $4,700 down payment given to Clarksville Home Exteriors.

There are Two Felony Warrants for Theft on file for Jacob Louis Smith (W/M, DOB: 9/6/76, Given Address: 2713 Thrush Drive, Clarksville).

There have been two other victims identified with a potential loss of over $9,500 possible. The investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been filed in those cases.

The lead investigator is Detective Heather Boyce. Please call 931.645.8477 with any information or 911 if at a known location.
