Austin Peay Governors Baseball wrap fall practice slate with Red-Black World Series

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will conclude its fall practice schedule with the annual Red-Black World Series, Friday-Sunday, at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Fans can catch a look at the 2012 Governors squad in action four months prior to the start of the 2012 campaign. Admission to each game is free.

The three-game series of intrasquad scrimmages begins with a 6:00pm, Friday contest that will pit senior Zach Toney against junior transfer Casey Delgado on the mound. Saturday’s contest will take place following the Govs-Central State football contest with a 5:15pm scheduled start between senior Andy Cox and junior transfer Brock Boyher. Sophomore transfer Ryan Quick and senior Zane Leffew will square off in a 1:15pm, Sunday contest.

“This is a great opportunity for our fans to watch us as we wrap up our fall schedule,” said Govs head coach Gary McClure. “We hope to end our fall practice on a positive note.”

Red-Black World Series Schedule and Probable Starters

6:00pm, Friday: Zach Toney (Red Team) vs. Casey Delgado (Black Team)

5:15pm, Saturday: Brock Boyher (Red Team) vs. Andy Cox (Black Team)

1:15pm, Sunday: Ryan Quick (Red Team) vs. Zane Leffew (Black Team)
