Sophomore Xiamar Richards, who returned following an illness, led the Lady Govs effort with a time of 23:04.6 over the six-kilometer course, finishing 105th in the 191-woman race.

Senior Janelle Avery completed the course in 24:15.4 for 153rd and was closely followed by sophomore Kendra Kirksey’s time of 24:20.6 and 154th-place finish.

Janelle Avery“I thought the girls did a nice job today,” said Lady Govs head coach Doug Molnar. “Xiamar ran the fourth-fastest time in school history (at the six-kilometer distance). It was a tough run for her as she was battling an illness, but they released her to run and she wanted to go so she really ran well considering. Janelle closed out her career with a solid run and Kendra is just scratching the surface of what she can do so the future is very bright.”

Florida State’s Amanda Winslow won the regional crown with a time of 20:33.4, leading the Seminoles to the regional team title with five runners finishing among the top 15.
