James Horne to join new sports network

Clarksville, TN – James Horne has joined Bonehead Promotions to help launch a new sports network in Clarksville.  Horne was the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle’s Austin Peay State University sports writer and brings sixteen years of journalistic experience to the new venture.

He will anchor a new afternoon sports show on Clarksville’s only news talk sports radio station, 1400am WJZM, and be a contributing writer for Clarksville Online, and the Clarksville Sports Network.

Hank Bonecutter, President and General Manager of Bonehead Promotions and Cumberland Radio Partners Inc, said “James is a talented writer, and sports “Junkie”, and was key to our plans to launch this effort. The plans for 2012 and beyond for covering sports in our area will reach new heights.” said Bonecutter. “We plan to offer radio, television, online video, digital and the most comprehensive web site for local sports in this area.”

Horne began his writing career at the Carrollton Missouri Democrat in 1995, and was the assistant sports editor/writer for the Hammond Louisiana Daily Star for two years.  In 1998, Horne became the Missouri Basketball beat writer for the Columbia Daily Tribune and won a state association sports writing award at the Daily Star and two while at the Leaf-Chronicle.

Originally from Tampa Florida, Horne earned his B.A in communications from Central Methodist University in Fayette Missouri. “I’ve enjoyed being a sports writer, but my dream was to do radio or television, and now I get that opportunity.” said Horne. “There’s a lot of great sports in Clarksville with Austin Peay and all of the high schools in our community, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what we will cover.” according to Horne.

Horne joins Clarksville’s oldest radio station, providing the most comprehensive coverage of local news, sports and current events. Broadcasting at www.wjzm.com, and fully integrated in social media, Wjzm has been able to provide it’s networks to the consumer on all platforms. The Clarksville Sports Network will give the Clarksville area multiple opportunities to find their favorite local teams, or sport. “I hope to be able to provide the most complete package of sports reporting to the fan, while delivering the best advertising value for the customer.” according to Bonecutter.
