Notice of Highway Design Meeting

State Notification of Sango Road Improvements – Sango/Hwy76-MLK

Tennessee Department of TransportationClarksville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), an equal opportunity affirmative action employer, in cooperation with the City of Clarksville, an equal opportunity affirmative action employer, will conduct a Highway Design Meeting on the 5th day of December 2011 at Clarksville Gas and Water:  Main Complex, 2215 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37043  to discuss project number STP-M-9301 (22), 63LPLM-F1-026, Improvements to Sango Road, Intersection at SR-76 in Clarksville, Tennessee, Montgomery County.

The City of Clarksville is proposing improvements to a 1,200-foot segment of Sango Road in the City of Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee.  The scope of work includes the addition of a continuous center turn lane, new curb and gutter, and sidewalks.  The roadway improvements begin at the intersection of Sango Road and SR 76 and extend approximately 1,200 feet to the south/southeast to a location just north of the intersection of Sango Road and Prospect Circle. Additional right-of-way and easements will be not be required for this work.  The design speed for this section is proposed at 30 miles per hour.

The meeting will be held from 5:30pm-7:00pm during which time there will be a presentation followed by a question and answer session. The public is invited to ask questions and make comments during the meeting. Representatives from the City of Clarksville and Gresham, Smith and Partners, the City’s planning and design consultant, will be present to answer questions on any aspect of the project.

A court reporter will be available to receive oral statements to be included in the project transcript. In addition, comment sheets are available for those who prefer to make written statements.
