College Sports Madness names Austin Peay Governors Basketball’s Terry Mid-Major Player of the Week

College Sports MadnessClarksville, TN – Josh Terry, whose late-game play helped lead Austin Peay State University to a pair of wins this past week, has been Mid-Major Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Terry played a significant role in both Govs wins this past week, an 86-82 overtime victory against Arkansas State and a 74-70 come-from-behind win at Tennessee. He was Austin Peay’s leading scorer in both games, tallying 22 against Arkansas State and 20 versus the Volunteers.

Against Arkansas State, he finished 9-of-15 from the floor and came up huge in overtime, scoring the periods first two buckets before sealing the win with a free throw with two seconds left.

Then in Austin Peay’s first-ever win against Tennessee, Terry was the game’s leading scorer, with nine of the points coming in the final 6:27 as Austin Peay ended the game on a 21-6 run.  The Henderson, KY, native scored the go-ahead basket with 1:05 remaining and hit the game-clinching free throw for the second consecutive game, this time with 2.4 seconds left.

Josh TerryIn addition, Terry, who ended the game 6-of-10 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line, also had a team-high five assists and four steals. The Govs defensive stopper held UT’s Cameron Tatum to just one point and then, with Tennessee down by three with 12.9 seconds left, was shifted to three-point specialist Skylar McBee, who was unable to even get his hands on the ball as Terry blanketed him.
