APSU Sports Information: Austin Peay Basketball
Clarksville, TN – Sophomore forward Shyra Brown has been dismissed from the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team, head coach Carrie Daniels announced, Friday.
Brown played in 11 games this season and averaged 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. She initially was suspended prior to the Lady Govs contest at Morehead State for conduct detrimental to the team. However, upon the Lady Govs return from their road trip the decision was made for Brown and the team to part ways.
“It’s never easy to let someone go,” said Lady Govs head coach Carrie Daniels. “However, I believe this is a move that is in the best interests of our team and for Shyra. I only wish the best for her in the future.”
With the roster move, Austin Peay will have 10 rostered players for the 2012 portion of their schedule. The Lady Govs begin a three-game homestand with a 3:00pm, Saturday contest against Murray State.
