Hands on Clarksville receives Home Depot Grant for Veteran Weatherization Project

Hands On ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Hands on Clarksville is pleased to announce it has received a community grant from The Home Depot Foundation to help local veterans and their families with weatherization repairs.

With help from Home Depot’s Team Depot, community volunteers will implement the Hometown Heroes Weatherization Project in late February 2012.

According to the Home Depot Foundation website, Home Depot supports volunteering to improve the physical health of neighborhoods and help creates healthier and more stable environments where families can thrive.

The primary goal of the project is to engage local volunteers to support our military families and to help those families reduce their overall annual energy costs with weatherization repairs. Volunteers will be trained and organized by Team Depot Leaders to implement the weatherization repairs.

Volunteers interested in helping may attend one of two workshops/trainings to be held on February 4th from 2:00pm-3:00pm and February 9th from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Home Depot Store located at 2630 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. To register call Rita Arancibia, Hands on Clarksville at 931.551.5450 or visit www.handsonclarksville.org.
