Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team is set for its 2012 opener, 4:00pm, Thursday, at Louisville.
The Govs return three key players – juniors Sean Bailey and John Storie, along with sophomore Jasmin Ademovic – from last year’s squad that reached the Ohio Valley Conference Championship match for the first time since 1987. Ademovic and Bailey were both first-team All-OVC picks, while Ademovic also was the league’s Freshman of the Year.

Nashville, TN – Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce the new music video and radio single release of “Trailblazer” by bluegrass duo, The Roys. The song is currently on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Airplay Chart and appears on their album, Lonesome Whistle which debuted at #7 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart.
The “Trailblazer” video was shot on location in Hermitage, TN just outside of Nashville with additional scenes filmed at Percy Priest Lake, and features Elaine Roy, Lee Roy (Mandolin), Clint White (Fiddle), Zac Hardin (Bass), Sterling Masat (Banjo, Dobro), and Harry Clark (guitar).
Austin Peay Governors Basketball to meet OVC newcomer SIU Edwardsville Cougars for the first time Thursday night

Edwardsville, IL – This is Austin Peay’s first meeting with the Cougars. The Governors come in amidst a three-game winning streak to even its OVC record at 3-3. They are seeking their first league road win.
After scoring 80 points in a 15-point victory against Eastern Kentucky, the Govs ground out wins against Jacksonville State, 60-57, and Tennessee State, 69-63, the latter coming Monday night. The Govs placed four players in double figures, led by the inside duo of John Fraley (16 points) and Melvin Baker (15 points) as they combined for 11 of 19 shooting.
Nashville Titans elevate Mike Reinfeldt to Chief Operating Officer and Ruston Webster to General Manager
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans promoted Mike Reinfeldt to Senior Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer after serving as the team’s General Manager for the past five seasons, and Ruston Webster was elevated to Executive Vice President/General Manager after serving two seasons as the Titans Vice President of Player Personnel. Additionally, Lake Dawson has been promoted to Vice President of Player Personnel.
Reinfeldt will oversee all aspects of the organization – both football and non-football – in Nashville and will report to Titans owner K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr.. Webster will assume control of all football operations for the team. «Read the rest of this article»

Golden Pond, KY – Applications will be available online February 1st, for the first six hunting days of the 2012 Turkey Season at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. Quota hunts not only provide unique recreational opportunities within the LBL region, they help maintain a healthy turkey population.
Three quota hunts in both Kentucky and Tennessee during the first portion of the season require a prior application. Clarksville, TN – On January 17th, 2012, around 10:30pm, 911 received calls about shots being heard in the area of Nadia Drive. When officers arrived in the area, they found 3697 and 3701 Nadia Drive which are side by side, had been struck by gunshot rounds.
The house at 3697 Nadia Drive had three adults and 12 juveniles inside. The juveniles ages ranged from less than one year to ten years of age. The residents had heard approximately six to eight gunshots outside. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed a section of Cumberland Drive to through traffic from Crossland Avenue to Church Street for road excavation and utility line repair work. Residents and business owners will have access to their homes and businesses.
Other traffic will be detoured to Church Street and Crossland Avenue until the road is reopened at approximately 4:30pm.
