John Fraley named Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State UniversityJohn FraleyClarksville, TN – John Fraley, a senior on the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Clarksville native matched his career high with 25 points against Eastern Kentucky, Thursday, shooting an efficient 10-of-12 from the field. He also added 12 rebounds in the contest giving him his season’s second double-double.

Despite foul trouble limiting him to 25 minutes against Jacksonville State, Saturday, Fraley finished with nine rebounds and three blocks. Those blocks gave him 108 for his career and moved him into sole possession of third on APSU’s career blocks list.

The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included

Senior Whitney Hanley, of the women’s basketball team, scored a career-high 32 points in the 73-74 loss to Jacksonville State, it was the first 30-point outing by an APSU player since the 2008-09 season.

Freshman Shelby Olszewski, of the women’s basketball team, tied a school record with a 12-of-12 effort at the free-throw line against Eastern Kentucky. Those 12 free throws accounted for all of her 12 points in the contest while she added three rebounds and three assists. In the week’s first game, she scored seven points and had two assists against Jacksonville State.

Junior Chantelle Grey, of the track and field team, won the 800-meter run at the Blazer invite. Her 2:13.84 time was just shy of breaking her personal-best time of 2:13.11.
