Montgomery County, TN – The National Weather Service has a tornado watch 7 in effect until 6:00am cst for the Clarksville Montgomery County Area.
A significant severe weather outbreak is possible in Middle Tennessee tonight and conditions will favor the development of isolated tornadoes. Vigilance is advised overnight.
Early tonight, a line of thunderstorms, some severe, was pushing across Eastern Arkansas. Austin Peay Lady Govs at SIU Edwardsville
Edwardsville, IL – Austin Peay concludes its trip through Illinois with a 7:00pm, Monday contest at SIU Edwardsville, the league’s newest member. Both teams enter the contest following losses, Saturday. The Lady Govs suffered an 80-46 loss at Eastern Illinois while SIU Edwardsville fell to Murray State, 67-59.
It will be third meeting all-time between the two squads, Austin Peay winning at home during the 2008-09 season and SIU Edwardsville winning its home contest last season. The Cougars enter the contest fifth in the league standings but will not be eligible to participate in the OVC Tournament – one year remains on their transition to full NCAA Division I status.
Clarksville, TN – January 21st, 2012, the LEAP Youth Interns volunteered to support Loaves and Fishes in serving the hungry. Loaves and Fishes serves between 150-200 meals daily to the hungry six days a week and distributes food to area agencies through volunteer efforts.
Loaves and Fishes served 45,864 meals in 2011 on site. They also have a Food Distribution Center that distributed approximately 137,000 lbs. of food to 18 other agencies helping the needy.
Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area has scheduled their annual Bison Auction for Saturday, January 28th, 2012.
The USDA Forest Service manages two herds of American Bison at LBL. Due to annual reproduction, there is a need to remove surplus bison from each herd. Thinning of the herd is necessary to sustain optimal habitat conditions and animal health.

The data remained consistent with moderate economic growth in the near term. Industrial production rose 0.4% in December, but was held back by a 2.7% decline in the output of utilities (a function of moderate temperatures) – manufacturing output rose 0.9%, partly reflecting a rebound from a soft November. Residential construction figures were mixed, with an improving trend in single-family housing starts and building permits, but softness in the multi-family sector (which is volatile).
Note that seasonal adjustment may have exaggerated the impact of mild weather. The Consumer Price Index was unchanged for a second consecutive month in December, up 3.0% year-over-year (vs. +1.5% in 2010).
