Tornado Watch in effect for the Clarksville Montgomery County area until 6:00am

National Weather ServiceMontgomery County, TN – The National Weather Service has a tornado watch 7 in effect until 6:00am cst for the Clarksville Montgomery County Area.

A significant severe weather outbreak is possible in Middle Tennessee tonight and conditions will favor the development of isolated tornadoes. Vigilance is advised overnight.

Early tonight, a line of thunderstorms, some severe, was pushing across Eastern Arkansas. The National Weather Service in Little Rock, Arkansas issued tornado warnings for several of these storms and damage to houses and trees reportedly occurred near the town of Fordyce, Arkansas.

Conditions will remain favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes, as this line of thunderstorms continues to march eastward into Middle Tennessee later tonight. It still looks like the greatest chance for severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes in the mid state will be after midnight.

The warning is also in effect for the following Tennessee counties: Bedford, Benton, Carroll, Cheatham, Chester, Crockett, Davidson, Decatur, Dickson, Fayette, Gibson, Giles, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Madison, Marshall, Maury, McNairy, Moore, Perry, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Wayne, Weakley, Williamson  and Wilson.

Wind Advisory

A strong low pressure system will move into the region tonight. South winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph during the mid to late evening hours with higher gusts expected in the early morning. Wind advisory remains in effect from 6:00pm this evening to 6:00am cst Monday.
