Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On January 24th, 2012, around 3:50am, Police responded to a burglary of a business in progress at Hardees, 1590 Fort Campbell Boulevard. Entry had been made through the drive-thru window.

When officers arrived, they spotted a backpack leaning against a dumpster on the outside of the business. As the officers approached the building, they saw a male, later identified as Ruslan Woodbridge, standing inside of the business near the drive-thru’s cash register.

Almost simultaneously, the burglar spotted the officers and quickly moved around the corner out of sight. Shortly after that, Woodbridge bolted out the back door. As the officers chased him, they saw him reaching for “something” in his waistband.

Sgt Joel Gibbons caught up to the male and had to tackle him since he would not voluntarily stop. After Woodbridge was taken into custody, officers found two throwing knives over 4 inches long in a holster on his person and a third knife was found on the ground under the suspect’s chest.

When officers looked in the back-pack, they found burglary tools, BB Gun, knives, masks, and some other items.

Woodbridge was taken to the detective division and interviewed by Detective Fontella Jones. He admitted to Detective Jones that he broke into Hardees in an attempt to obtain money.

While in the detective division, Detective Ronald Parrish noticed that Woodbridge looked like a suspect Police were looking for in connection with a January 18th burglary of Chapala, a business at 1191 Fort Campbell Boulevard. The business had been broken into and money was taken.

Woodbridge admitted to Detective Parrish that he had broken into the business. He said that he tried to enter the business by throwing a rock through the door, missed the door, and hit a window instead. He then made entry through the broken window and took money from the register.
