Fort Campbell, KY – On Monday, Fort Campbell welcomed 283 soldiers from the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade home from a year long deployment to Southern Afghanistan. The 159th Combat Aviation Brigade is one of the last major elements of the 101st Airborne Division still deployed in Afghanistan.
The soldiers arrived home just one day before the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day! So, I knew that this was going to be one of the good one’s, and I wasn’t in the least bit disappointed.

Clarksville, TN – On February 14th, 2012, a little before 6:00pm, a 2007 Nissan Frontier driven by Justin Norton, 26, of Clarksville, was traveling in the left lane of southbound Riverside Drive and switched to the right lane, at which time, an unidentified pedestrian exited McGregor Park onto southbound Riverside Drive into the path of the Nissan.
The Nissan struck the pedestrian in close proximity to the 600 block of North Riverside Drive.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay certainly hasn’t gotten to the point of hitting the panic button, but the Governors are in an unaccustomed spot heading down the regular-season stretch.
Historically, Austin Peay peaks in February. Since the mid-1990s the Govs have captured nearly 70 percent of their games in Feburary-March. The Govs find themselves entering Wednesday’s 7:00pm game with Morehead State already owning a 0-3 February record.
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is taking applications for the next Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class which runs from March 20th – May 29th, 2012. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
The CPA covers all facets of the Police Department’s activities from administration to tactical operations. Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms on a one-year contract with DT Lamar Divens. He has played in five NFL games during his four years in the NFL.

Olszewski, of Pickerington, Ohio, scored 11 points in Austin Peay’s 85-72 victory at Murray State, Monday. She was 4-of-6 from the floor, including a 3-of-4 effort from three-point range. Austin Peay State University Provost Lecture Series to feature art professor’s residency in Tanzania
Clarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University art professor will discuss her three-week residency in Tanzania as part of the next Provost Lecture Series session at APSU.
Cynthia Marsh, professor of art, will speak at 3:00pm, Thursday, February 16th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303. The event is free and open to the public.
