Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.

Vendors Wanted

Clarksville Downtown MarketAre you interested in being a vendor in this year’s Downtown Market season? Applications are available now, at our Main office or online at www.clarksvilledowntownmarket.com. Rent a booth for only $50.00

Booth is good for the entire market season. Rental includes a 10×10 tent, table and 2 chairs.

Now Hiring Lifeguards

LifeguardAre you 16 years old or older and interested in earning respect and money, developing leadership skills, meeting great people, and gaining valuable work experience? If so, become a lifeguard today!

Hurry-if interested, you must apply at the Parks & Recreation Main office or at the Indoor Aquatic Center before the next swim test which will be held March 3rd. The lifeguard certification class will begin March 26th. Cost is $60.00 a person. For more information, call 931.552.6199.

Patty’s Day Plunge

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceCome celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Indoor Aquatic Center from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, with refreshments, games and more! Dive to the bottom of the pool to collect a “Blarney Stone” for prizes. Free and open to the public.

Participants must pre-register at the Parks & Recreation Main office or online at recprp.cityofclarksville.com.

Practices for Hershey’s Track and Field Competition to Begin

Hershey Track and FieldThe Hershey Track and Field Program is a free opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills in track, the long jump, and softball throw. Young athletes can begin signing up now by picking up an application at the Parks and Recreation office or any of our three community centers. This program is open to boys and girls ages 9-14.

Practices will begin March 22nd and meet every Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm at Burt-Cobb Community Center. A local competition will be held May 12th at 9:00am at Rossview High School Track. For more information, please call the Burt-Cobb Center at 931.552.1263.

Wettest Egg Hunts

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceJoin us at the Indoor Aquatic Center, March 31st from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, for these not-so-typical egg hunts- all the eggs will either be floating or sunk to the bottom of the pool! Event will include refreshments and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Hunts are open to children ages 1-12.

Following these egg hunts, we have partnered with Sango Pool & Spa to host an adaptive wettest egg hunt. These hunts will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and will be open to any individual ages 1-18 with a disability.

If interested in participating in any of the hunts, you must pre-register at the Parks & Recreation main office or online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com. The cost is free!

Easter Bunny Visits Scheduled

The Easter Bunny himself will be hopping over to three of our community centers to meet with kids and share his eggs! Join him from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, April 3rd at the Kleeman Community Center and then at Crow Community Center April 4th, and again April 5th at Burt-Cobb Community Center. Cookies and punch will be served. Parents are strongly encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures.

Private Rentals

Whether you are planning parties, picnics, reunions, weddings or any other occasion, keep in mind a Parks and Recreation facility for your next event. The Indoor Aquatic Center is also available for private rentals Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, reserve it today!
