Clarksville, TN – On March 3rd, 2012, around 2:00pm, the Fatal Accident Crash Team was called to a single car crash which sent four teenagers to the hospital.
According to witnesses and vehicle occupants’ accounts, a 2002 Ford Focus driven by a 17 year old was traveling south (right lane) on Needmore Road at an excessive rate of speed, crossed left of the center line, over corrected, went off the right side of the road, over corrected again, crossed the northbound lane, went off the left side of the road, the vehicle rotated back onto the roadway and came to rest in the southbound lane.
The vehicle traveled over 375 feet from the time it crossed the center line until it came to rest. The three passengers, 13, 14, and 16 years old were ejected from the vehicle and the driver was partially ejected. None of the vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts.The 13, 16, and 17 year old were transported to Gateway Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and are expected to be treated and released. The 14 year old was taken by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be released this evening.
Speed was a factor in the crash. There was marijuana found on one of the vehicle occupants.
