Clarksville Academy announces Promotions, Transfers and Leadership Roles

Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy is a Pre-K through 12th grade college preparatory school that has seen impressive growth over the past few years. Due to the increasing number of students attending CA, Kay Drew, Head of Schools proudly announces staff promotions, transfers and new leadership roles.

These position changes allow the staff at Clarksville Academy to better serve the students and families who are now part of the Cougar tradition. Position changes will be effective August 1st, 2012.

Kari Turner continues to serve the school community in her role as Executive Assistant to the Head of School and also as Director of School Affairs.

Angie Henson will continue to effectively manage student enrollment and business affairs for Clarksville Academy as the Assistant for Enrollment & Finance Administration.

Erica Coleman will be working with faculty to maintain licensure and certification assurance and also focus on curriculum and state and national standards as the Curriculum Director.

Sally Allen will remain in her position working with the school’s development but also adds marketing to her responsibility as Director of Marketing and Development.

Bill Turnage will move to Facilities and Grounds Manager, where he will oversee the day-to-day maintenance management of Clarksville Academy’s facilities and sports complex.

Matt Wallace is the newly named Director of Finance & Administration.  He will also serve as Athletic Director Advisor and continue as Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach.

Jake Peterson accepted the position of Athletic Director.  He will also continue as Head Varsity Golf Coach and Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach.

Kay Drew is excited about this new phase Clarksville Academy’s future, “As our school continues to grow, we as staff must grow with it in order to effectively maintain the level of service we are known for providing.  All of these individuals have displayed leadership qualities that will make them assets in their new positions.”

Matt Wallace accepts this new challenge with Clarksville Academy.  “My love and dedication for Clarksville Academy has only grown in the two years I have worked here.  My family truly feels part of the Cougar family and we are excited about this new opportunity I’ve been offered.”

Jake Peterson embraces the opportunity to follow on the path Matt Wallace has begun to build with Cougar Athletics.  “I have been taught by the mentors in my life that commitment, honesty, and integrity are the most important factors in being a leader. My goal is to use what I have learned to continue building a well-respected and successful athletic department. Matt Wallace has played a vital role in the success of this department and I hope to build off of what he has accomplished.

CA stands for excellence, excellence that has been laid by hard working and respected educators and administrators. I am truly honored and lucky to be a part of such a great family at CA and can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life. My family and I are extremely excited and want to thank Mrs. Kay Drew and the CA family for opening their arms to us.” Matt Wallace current Athletic Director knows Jake Peterson is the right fit for the new AD, “I have great confidence in Jake and his ability to continue to lead Cougar athletics in the right direction! His passion, determination and hard work will bring CA to am all new athletic level.”
