Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces winners of the Queen City Road Race Art Contest

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of the Queen City Road Race Art Contest. Two finalists were selected from each of the participating elementary schools.

The overall winning artwork is featured on the official race T-shirt and event poster. Along with that honor, the top finalist has been awarded $100.00 for their art class. The top three finalists each won a Chick-fil-a party for their art class. Each finalist received a certificate and art kit which were presented at their schools.

The top three finalists were:

First place-Akanee Angel, Clarksville Academy

Second place– Kylie Moorefield, East Montgomery Elementary

Third place-Maggie McClendon, East Montgomery Elementary

The remaining finalists were:

  • Madison Rios, Moore Magnet
  • Riley Moler, Moore Magnet
  • Turner Frilling, Barksdale Elementary
  • Madelin Allen, Barksdale Elementary
  • Ebony Thomason, Hazelwood Elementary
  • Elena Brooks, Hazelwood Elementary
  • Emily Smith, Clarksville Academy
  • Kate Muehlendorf, Rossview Elementary
  • Morgan Cozine, Rossview Elementary
  • Jillian Dickson, West Creek Elementary
  • Julianna Price, West Creek Elementary
  • Liza Goodwin, Barkers Mill Elementary
  • Taemari Wimbush, Barker’s Mill Elementary
  • Amayuh Watson, Jackson Elementary
  • Jenna Hogan, Jackson Elementary

Presenting sponsors of the Queen City Road Race, Cumberland Bank & Trust, play a large role in not only the race but the art contest as well. “We at Cumberland Bank & Trust truly enjoy sponsoring the Queen City Road Race each year. It’s especially fun and rewarding to see the ideas and creativity displayed by the children in the t-shirt design contest,” says Vice President and Main Office Manager, Merry Beth Roland.

The 34th Annual Queen City Road Race is co-sponsored by Austin Peay State University, Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools, The Leaf-Chronicle, Lamar Advertising, and the Clarksville Sports Network.
