Clarksville Police respond to a Bicyclist colliding with a Pickup Truck on Fort Campbell Boulevard

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On March 20th, 2012, around 9:15am, a bicyclist was involved in a collision with a Ford F-150 pickup in front of a business at 2084 Fort Campbell Boulevard.

A 22 year old bicyclist was traveling north on the southbound lane, riding on/near the fog line of Fort Campbell Boulevard. A Ford F-150, driven by Cody Waltman, 33, of Clarksville was traveling southbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard in the right hand lane.

The Ford signaled and started to make a right turn into a business at 2084 Fort Campbell Boulevard and did not see the oncoming bicyclist. At that point, the bicyclist collided with the pickup.

The bicyclist was taken to Gateway Medical Center by ambulance with a head and other injuries in stable condition and is going to be transferred to Vanderbilt.

The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The lead investigator is Officer Melissa Spielhagen. No charges will be filed.
