Fort Campbell hosts Spring Job Fairs

101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell’s Army Career and Alumni Program and the Army Community Service Family Employment Readiness Program held back to back jobs fairs, for soldiers, retirees, and their families which saw more than 119 international, national and local employers taking part. Over 4000 people took advantage of the two day event.

Maj. Gen James C. McConville appreciated the opportunity being presented to his soldiers, “Events like this give our well deserving 101st and Fort Campbell Soldiers the opportunity for a “Smooth Takeoff.” We have some of the best trained, disciplined and fit Soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division, and they will certainly contribute to our great nation after they leave the Army.”

On Wednesday international companies including Able Forces, Amazon, Boeing, Hemlock Semi-Conductors and Dow Corning, CSX Railroad and along with nearly 50 others were given first chance to recruit the best of the best.

Then on Thursday it was the local employers turn, with 61 local and regional employers getting their chance to recruit from the highly skilled workforce associated with the military community at Fort Campbell. Among the employers on hand were Convergys, Gaylord Opryland Resort and Attractions, Bridgestone Metalpha USA Inc., Dollar General, Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union, Gary Mathews Motors Inc. and many more.

Harold Riggins, the Transition Service Manager for the Army Career and Alumni Program was in charge of the two day career event.

We are helping transitioning service members, their families, and veterans from the surrounding communities with career opportunities post their seperation from the military. At the end of their time in the Army we want them to have a smooth transition back into the civilian sector, and jobs help!

Yesterday was our international job fair, and we had companies from all over the world participating. Today is strictly local companies, because there is such a large veteran presence in the area we wanted to provide great opportunities from throughout our area for them as well.
