The small meet will include regional rivals Tennessee Tech and Lipscomb, along with a small number of individuals. Throwing events are slated to begin at 10:00am, behind the Dunn Center, with the track events starting at noon, inside Governors Stadium.

“This is a good opportunity for our team to go after some personal records,” head coach Doug Molnar said. “We’re going to be on our home track against some good competition. I think it’s going to be good for us.”

APSU thrower Tanesha Campbell will take center stage right out of the gates, looking to extend her shot put mark set at the Coastal Carolina Invitational which opened the outdoor season. Campbell, who has been battling a foot injury over the past week, also will throw the hammer.

Junior Chantelle Grey also is set to run the 400-, 800- and 1500-meter runs. Grey was terrific with the 800-meter run during the indoor season and approached the 400-meter school record at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational. Her 4:36.13 mark in the 1500-meter run is the OVC’s best mark.

Kendra Kirksey will be looking to better her school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase, while the Lady Govs also will work towards continued improvement in the relays. Sophomore Cenitra Hudson is coming off a career-best 200-meter finish of 24.96, which is fifth-best in the OVC.
