Nashville Returns To Music City For Home Opener Friday Night
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds were held to five hits by a trio of Oklahoma City pitchers during a 2-0 shutout loss to the RedHawks on Thursday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
With the defeat, Nashville finished its season-opening road trip with a 2-6 record, going 1-3 against both the New Orleans Zephyrs and the Oklahoma City RedHawks.
The Sounds’ lone hits in the contest were singles off the bats of Erick Almonte, Eric Farris, Caleb Gindl, Paul Phillips, and Logan Schafer. Nashville put a runner into scoring position only three times in the contest.
Murray State vs. Austin Peay Baseball

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team will look to build on its 7-1 Ohio Valley Conference start when it hosts Murray State in a three-game league series, beginning with a 6:00pm, Friday contest at Raymond C. Hand Park.
The series will continue with a 2:00pm, Saturday contest before wrapping up with a 1:00pm, Sunday affair.

Nashville, TN – In an effort to save lives, the Governor’s Highway Safety Office (GHSO) is again working across the state to crack down on traffic safety violations including impaired driving, seat belt use, distracted driving, and speeding, during its “More Cops. More Stops.” campaign this April.

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Softball
Martin, TN – Austin Peay’s softball team got a huge pitching performance from Morgan Brewer, but it wasn’t enough, as the Lady Govs fell to UT Martin Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game at Bettye Giles Field 1-0 – in eight innings.
Clarksville, TN – Deok Kwon Nam, owner of Shogun Restaurant, presented the Clarksville Police Department a personal donation in the amount of $1,000 for the Clarksville Police Department’s Youth Coalition.
The CPD Youth Coalition is a unique program which works with “at risk” juvenile offenders.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team will compete at the Sea Ray Relays, hosted by Tennessee, Friday, at Tom Black Track in LaPorte Stadium.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Jenny Lane to repair a water main leak. Construction crews expect the repair to be complete and water restored by approximately 4:00pm.
The road is open to traffic.

Contest to highlight colors of the urban forest
Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Forest Service today announced its My Neighborhood Forest photo contest, celebrating America’s urban and community forests.
The Grand Prize winner will receive $200.00 in outdoor gear courtesy of the National Forest Foundation.
