Austin Peay got even-par performances from Bradley, Iten and junior Dustin Korte in the final-round to shoot a 360 -the field’s best final-day score – to finish 10 shots behind tournament winner Louisville (1090). Host Ball State finished third at 1113 behind the Govs second-place 1100. Eastern Kentucky was fourth at 1115.

“I can’t say enough about these guys,” head coach Kirk Kayden said. “To finish the regular season undefeated against the league in head-to-head matchups is pretty outstanding. Anthony and Marco really had it going today despite some tough course conditions.”

Anthony BradleyMuch like the first day, temperatures were low and scores were high at the Delaware Country Club. Austin Peay’s trio of par rounds look even more impressive considering the entire field accounted for five total in the final 18 holes. Strong winds and fast greens increased the course’s difficult, but also provided the necessary challenge for the Govs in preparation for the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Golf Championships.

Korte’s final round jumped him to a tied-for-16th finish, followed by senior Logan Loftus who tied for 37th. For Loftus, the strong finish could mean a lineup spot in the upcoming championships. Freshman Tucker Wallace was tied for 43rd and sophomore Trey Tarpley was t-65th.

Marco Iten“The regular-season is behind us and now we have to get ready for a short turnaround,” Kayden said. “This was a good event for us to build some confidence and I’m really pleased with the finish. But for golf, it all comes down to the next one.”

The OVC Men’s Golf Championships, played at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson Tennessee, begins with a Wednesday practice round, followed by three 18-hole days starting Thursday.
