APSU Governors Golf’s Anthony Bradley continues his season at NCAA Regional in Bowling Green

2012 NCAA Golf ChampionshipsIndianapolis, IN – Sophomore Anthony Bradley, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team and the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference individual champion, will continue his postseason quest at the NCAA Regionals, May 17th-19th, at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, KY hosted by Western Kentucky.

Bradley, of Ivybridge, Devon, England, was the sixth Austin Peay men’s golfer to win the OVC’s individual title and first since 2003. He won the event in wire-to-wire fashion with a score of six-under par (210) at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee. He earned the OVC’s individual automatic bid with the victory.

The Club at Olde Stone – a 7,248-yard, par-72 course, is a familiar site for Austin Peay head coach Kirk Kayden as he led the 2008-09 Governors squad in the then NCAA Central Regional hosted at the golf course.

“I’m happy for Anthony to have the chance to continue his season,” said Kayden. “He has worked hard to get to this point in his college career. I believe The Club at Olde Stone is a ball striker’s golf course and that is one of Anthony’s strengths.”

The NCAA Regional will begin with a practice round, Wednesday, May 16th, before the start of the 54-hole championship, Thursday, May 17th. The top five teams and top individual not on one of those squads will advance to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship, May 29th-June 3rd, at The Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades, CA.
