Nashville Records Second Straight Last At-Bat Win

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Corey Patterson’s two-out drag bunt single plated Eric Farris with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning and gave the Nashville Sounds a dramatic 4-3 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Thursday evening at Greer Stadium.

Nashville (11-22) recorded its second straight last at-bat win and sixth overall last at-bat triumph of the year.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation releases “School Crimes Report” for 2011

 

Study shows crime decreased from previous year

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released its annual study dedicated to crime in Tennessee’s schools. Produced by TBI’s Crime Statistics Unit, the study spans a three-year period between 2009 and 2011 and is based on numbers submitted by Tennessee law enforcement agencies to the Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS).

Soldiers are normally trained to take a lead role in operations. FSF training helps soldiers better handle a supporting role to host nations, such as Afghanistan.

Land Between the Lake’s New Projection Technology Wows Audiences

 

Land Between the LakesGolden Pond, KY – The world’s first full-dome, full-color digital planetarium with single lens projection, the MEDIAGLOBE II, arrived at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area just in time for the 2012 season.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department announces East Old Ashland City Road Area Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service in the East Ashland City road area to repair a six-inch water main leak on Parkvue Village Way. Water service is expected to be off for the next 4-5 hours while construction crews make repairs.

The roads are open to traffic.

APSU Military History Alum earns prestigious fellowship with U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Paul Witkowski of the United States Army was stationed on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border, trying to keep enemy combatants and supplies from passing through the region. It was a tricky assignment, given the province’s mountainous terrain and the absence of a fence or other obstruction between the two countries.

Later this summer, he’ll take what he learned in that war zone to Washington, D.C., where he’ll spend a year with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency as part of an Interagency Exchange Program fellowship. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be out doing DUI Checkpoints and Saturation Patrols May 25th-26th

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, and the Clarksville Police Department will be conducting roadside safety checkpoints on May 25th, 2012 and May 26th, 2012 in Montgomery County.

The locations of the checkpoints will be on U.S. 41-A and U.S. 79, as well as, State Routes 12, 13, 48, and 76.
