Clarksville, TN – On May 28th, 2012, around 3:20am, Clarksville Police were called to 121 Bluegrass Road about a Building Supply Truck that had crashed into a house.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a truck had left the roadway, hit a tree, continued on, crashed into a house, and then overturned in the front yard. There was a large portion of the front brick on the house torn away.
In the meantime, the vehicle owner was contacted and it was determined the vehicle had been stolen from a locked and gated area from a Commerce Street business.
Officers went to Dalewood Drive and found Taylor inside the residence wearing torn shorts, an abrasion which appeared to be fairly recent, and that he also had a strong odor of alcohol. He was taken back to the scene and asked by Officer Ryan Pope to take field sobriety test, but he declined, because he said he was drunk.
Taylor was interviewed by Detectives Justin Bailey and Chris Nolder. He told detectives that his friends left him at a bar, intoxicated, and he needed a ride home. He tried to hotwire a small pickup, but was unsuccessful. He saw the Building Supply truck in a fenced area, jumped the fence, and drove the truck through the locked gate. The Supply truck estimated value is $50,000.
Additionally, Taylor is being held since he was reported as AWOL from the Air National Guard in Smyrna, TN.
