Clarksville Police receive a tip that leads to a seizure of around 70lbs of Marijunana

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On May 31st, 2012 around 3:30pm, Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit working in conjunction with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations received information that Ernesto Galindo Mata was in possession of a large quantity of marijuana.

A traffic stop was conducted on Mata’s 2003 Chevrolet Astro Van.

There were multiple boxes inside of the vehicle which contained a green plant material determined to be marijuana and had an origin of Mexico. The marijuana weighed 70 lbs.

Additionally, Mata was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mata has previous criminal history involving drugs.

The lead investigator is Agent Greg Beebe.
